Private Writing Instruction
I teach poetry and memoir to writers at every stage, from people putting words on a page for the first time to those deep into a manuscript. My approach is rooted in close reading, careful attention to language, and the belief that writing well requires learning to see clearly.
I work with students one-on-one and in small groups.
Individual sessions starting at $125/hour, via Zoom or in person
Small group workshops starting at $75/hour per participant
Sessions can be ongoing or project-based. Whether you’re working toward publication, trying to make sense of a life experience through language, or simply want to write better poems, I’d be glad to hear from you.
Survivor Consultation & Writing as Healing
People find me because of my experience with coercive control, with telling that story publicly, with the long process of making sense of what happened. If you or someone you love has been through something similar, I understand why you’re reaching out, and I’m glad you are.
I offer one-on-one peer consultations for survivors of coercive control, cult dynamics, and high-demand relationships. These are conversations grounded in lived experience, not clinical sessions. I can be a sounding board, help you think through what you’re navigating, and share what I’ve learned from my own recovery and from the years I’ve spent in dialogue with other survivors.
I also offer sessions specifically focused on writing as a path through difficult experience. Memoir and poetry can be powerful tools for reclaiming your own narrative. These sessions sit at the intersection of my work as a writing teacher and my experience as a survivor. We work on craft and on the deeper questions that surface when you try to write the hardest things.
A note on what this is and isn’t: I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy, but I’m not yet a licensed therapist. What I offer here is peer support and the perspective of someone who has been through it, not therapy, diagnosis, or clinical treatment.
